Hi gorgeous readers! So yeah, it's the 4th of July, and if you're lucky, you are getting a chance to relax and be your cute selves enjoying some great weather. But you know, sometimes the summertime weather isn't the most condusive to being cute, is it? Sweat, humidity, and the scorching sun are sometimes out to ruin the day for beauty.

So let's help each other out a bit here: What is your favorite summer beauty product, tip, or trick for staying fresh, pretty, and polished in the heat and humidity?

i'll give you mine!

Oil-free sunscreen/moisturizer helps lessen shine throughout the day.

Blotting wipes (like the Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets) are a godsend for greasy mugs!

John Frieda Secret Weapon Styling Creme is great for frizzies.

Cover Girl Liquid Eyes liquid-to-powder eyeshadow will. not. budge.

Maybelline Full 'n Soft Mascara in Waterproof Black is my ultimate favorite of all time, and never smudges.

Also, Maybelline Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner stays put very well.

Mineral makeup! My minerals of choice are Glominerals pressed. They never run or smear or settle into pores (I live in Texas and it is WICKED hot and humid here right now). They even stay on in the pool!

My favorite blotting papers are the Pureness ones by Shiseido. They're not film like MAC Blot or Clean & Clear - they're some kind of thick paper that just works better on my face (and they're a bit larger, but the package isn't).

For general freshening-up, a spritz of DHC Micro Skin Water.

Kiss Me mascara, always.

I also like to switch to a tinted balm rather than gloss or lipstick when I'm going to be out in the heat. I really like Burt's Bees LipShimmers, Neutrogena MoistureShine, and Terra Tints.

The best summertime tip I can give is never towel dry your hair if you can help it! Wring out as much of the water with your hands, or else you'll spend the rest of the day trying to put that moisture back in. I have very curly, very prone to frizz hair especially in the summer, and since I have been doing this and using Biosilk therapy, I can't tell you the improvement to my hair. The trick is to put a small amount (about size of dime to quarter depending on length) right on your ends just after you get out of the shower, then use your regular styling products, air dry if possible, blow dry on low heat if you're in a hurry. After a lifetime of flyaways, I am so happy with my hair now, I can actually deal with the curls (trust me, it's taken me years to say this).

Now, if I could only find the perfect makeup.....

I've got oily skin with sun damage (which must be concealed), so here's my 'product cocktail'

Philosophy "The Present" clear powder on the skin
Over that:

Murad "Oil Free Sunblock Sheer Tint".

To combat shine through the day:

Benefit "Dr. Feelgood".

with this combo, I get good coverage without looking made up!

Evian Brumisateur! And Banana Boat Dark Tanning Oil (SPF 4)...I use this as a regular moisturizer not just at the beach...

Chalk up another vote for Philosophy's "The Present."

I also mix my boring Cetaphil moisturizer (SPF 15) in a mini gladware with my foundation for a lighter formula.

And curly hair in balls-hot and swampass-humid weather? Skip mousse. Use a light hand/body lotion like Burt's Baby Bee instead. It holds the curl and moisturizes your hair all day long!
