DeLush Rountable: Your Signature Scent

Note: This is a sticky entry. There is a new post for today down below, but don't forget to tell us about your signature scent!

Every woman should have at least one. Something you put on that makes you feel exactly how you envision yourself that day. It changes your mood, makes you feel sexy, or gives you comfort each time your walk breezes the scent back to you. Mine? That's a tough one because perfumes make me swoon, but my favorites right now are Hanae Mori Butterfly, Nanette Lepore, and (shut up, it's yummy) Dessert Beauty Taste Deliciously Kissable Fragrance.

Now...how about yours?

Mine would be Laila, The Essence of Norway by Geir Ness. It is so fresh and clean and because it has essential oils it lasts all day and never changes its scent on me. I have never loved any perfume more than this one. It is fabulous and I never get tired of it! I also like Stila Creme Bouquet, Bath & Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel and my favorite drugstore find is Healing Garden Green Tea. Always get compliments when I am wearing any one of these.

I totally LOVE Enchantress by Stacked Style. It's around thirty dollars a bottle, but I prefer the mini pack of scentarettes. They're only ten bucks, and they're great to throw into your purse!

Skin Musk Oil by Bonne Belle. The men can't get enough of it.

I found Lolita Lempicka from a magazine scented ad. It's the only perfume ad I haven't ripped out and I've been wearing it ever since. It's fresh and sweet, I love it!

Absolute #1 is Jamaica from Bare Escentuals. They've discontinued it and replaced it with some lame name. It doesn't even smell the same. #2 IS Baby Doll by YSL, and #3 is Bvlgari pour femme.

Vivenne Westwood Boudoir. My husband can't stop kissing me when I wear it. During the day: Creed Spring Flower. It never overwhelms or offends anyone.

I wear philosophy's Amazing Grace during the day. It is floral, but very light-- basically, you don't smell like you are wearing a fragrance, you just smell clean and fresh. For evening, I like Chance by Chanel, because it is spicy but also young. When I run out of that, I am going to buy Givenchy's Simply Irresistible. I tried a sample and unlike some fragrances, the longer you wear it the better it smells.

My favorite fragrance of all time still is Marc Jacobs. I love the gardenia scent. It's very floral, but clean at the same time. I have a lot of the product line, and the lotion and hair shine are fantastic as well.

Origins Ginger Essence for every day...when I'm not going to work [I like lighter scents for the office] I like to use this aromatherapy oil perfume from Aveda...it doesn't have a real name [not one that's easy to remember] but it's one of the "full spectrum" scents and it's got a hint of something almost patchouli-esque, minus the dirty hippy overtones. Earthy, but not dirty.

Gucci Envy Me - the only perfume I've ever bought the largest size in. I never get tired of it!

I've had several. I wish Victoria's Secret still made Vanilla Caramel. Damn, but I loved that stuff.

Now, I wear Noa (plain--not the floral one) most of the time. A guy at Sarah's fragrance shop in Tijuana pointed me to it. I've been in that shop several times and those guys are ACES at pinpointing what would smell good on you.

I also wear Jean Paul Gaultier's Fragile. That was a Sephora find.

And I love Demeter's Gin & Tonic, though I hate the drink itself.

When I'm going out in the evening, it's Donna Karan Cashmere Mist or Kate Spade (which is very gardenia-y).

In the daytime, I wear Clean Fresh Laundry or Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender. Classic and classy.

For sassy instead of classy, Victoria's Secret Secret Crush.

And Shalimar has been a favorite of mine since high school, though it's so strong I don't wear it very often. But men LOVE Shalimar!

Bath and Body Works' coconut lime verbena. It smells like a margarita. Of course, I don't like the scents of regular perfume anyway - to me, they stink and give me a headache.

I've been wearing The Body Shop's White Musk for, what, ten years now? I wear the oil, and I can hardly smell it anymore... it's just sort of become a part of me. I know it's not terribly complex (and certainly not expensive) but I'd be hard-pressed to find something I like as well.

Call me old fashioned, but my favorite is Chanel #5. My sister gave it to me when I was 18 as a present for being in her wedding and I am 43 and still buy it. It just smells good on me.

I'm in love with Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea. It has a light clean smell to it.

A close second is Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon body splash.

Shalimar, my mother's perfume. Somewhere around age 30 I grew out of Coco, and started loving Shalimar. When I wear it, I feel every bit the Ava Gardner that my figure evidently resembles. It is a bit heavy in the summer, though. The new Chanel #5 "Sensual Elixir" is a good summer alternative.

Call me a traditionalist, but definitely Ralph Lauren Romance. My husband loves it (he gave it to me), and it's a great scent.
