DeLush Roundtable: Share Your Local Beauty Favorites With Us!
Is there a special boutique where you live or vacation that makes your favorite perfume or lip balm? Is there a local merchant at a farmer's market whose lotion or soap you love? Tell us about your local beauty favorites and go ahead and link to them so we can enjoy them, too!
For example, one of my favorites at the local farmer's market is "The Soap Lady", as she is referred to in my house! Actually, she is the woman behind Cherokee Soap, at Nature's Emporium Soap Company. And every market season I have to STOCK UP on this stuff for myself and for gifts for friend and family for all occasions (I bought bars and bars this past September for Christmas!). The scents are incredible, the packaging alone is gift-worthy with its artistic beauty (the pics don't do it justice), and the soap is incredibly soft. Go here to buy some now! It's very reasonably-priced for the quality you get at around $6.50 for each thick bar. The commerce site isn't the easiest to navigate, but it's SO worth it! They even have scents just for men! My favorites? Madagascar Vanilla, Carrot Oatmeal, Goddess, Mountain Morning...uh-oh, I'd better stop now!
I also have a favorite place down in Siesta Key, Florida where I like to get custom essential perfume oils blended every time we go down there (at $11.50 a piece how can I resist?). You can mix any combo you like, and I love the convenient roller-ball sized applicators. It's called Lotions & Potions, and you can go here to check it out! (It might be easier to call the order in if you have any issues online or want to combine fragrances.) My favorite combinations? 1/2 Vanilla Musk/ 1/2 Razzleberry and 1/2 Vanilla Musk / 1/2 Egyptian Musk. I get compliments each time I use them, especially the Vanilla/Egyptian combo.
Now it's YOUR turn!

First of all, its my first time to comment so let me say I LOVE DeLush!!
There used to be a shop in Waco,TX called The Bath Shoppe, they now just sell exclusively on their web site www.thebathshoppe.com . You can mix your own lotions, gels, scrubs in whatever color and scent you want. The best part is that all the products are free of petroleum products.
I love their shea butter lotions and their bubbling bath salts, but my absolute favorite is the Coconut Sugar Scrub. It is sooo yummy, and it works wonders!
I have a particularly favorite local soap maker. It happens to be me. I have been making soap for a few years now and have perfected a few all natural bars that are truly luxurious. I am currently selling bars such as Honeybee, Green Tea, and the Feel Better Bar in my Etsy store. These bars are all pretty moisturizing, containing shea butter, olive oil, soy oil, sweet almond oil, and other great quality ingredients. I test all of the products myself (read: there is a heck of a lot of soap in my shower!) and design the labels as well.
I am currently working on a baby soap recipe and have some solid perfumes listed at Etsy as well.
The ~3.5 ounce bars sell for $3.00 a bar. I will combine orders, so you can just email me and we can hash out how to get Etsy to work for you.
Come and check out my soap and other handmade goods! You won't be disappointed!

A woman I used to work with left the corporate world and started her own soap company on Maui - www.kopahaiku.net. Her soaps, oils, and lotions are truly unbelievable--creamy, moisturizing, natural ingredients, with the most deliciously yummy smells that take me right back to the islands. (I swear I'll take a bite out of the mango cream bar one of these days.) You can find her products in various HI shops, Tommy Bahama stores, and online. Magical stuff.
I used to work at a spa and miss the great products that I got to use there. However, I have made do without most of them, but one of the spa formulas that I really love and can't do without is this stuff called Herbal Sea Concentrate. It is a liquid combination of 3 or 4 different seaweeds, and it smells VILE. However, I don't think my hair has ever been so shiny as when I use that stuff, and my skin is much less oily when I use it as my base moisturizer. At the spa to cover up the smell we would put in lavender essential oil. But my favorite oil combo is lavender, neroli, and chammomile. It smells good and negates the seaweedy smell. You can buy Herbal Sea Concentrate online at www.ummelina.com
As a natural-haired African American woman, I spend lots of time searching for the right products to use on my hair. A local company, Oyin Handmade (www.oyinhandmade.com), offers wonderful products at affordable prices. I particularly like the Grand Poo Bar, Greg Juice, and Shine & Define.
Thank you for the love!
We have moved to Taos New Mexico, but we are still making the mildest most moisturizing deal for the buck!
Your site rocks!
