DeLush Roundtable: Give Us the Dirt On Your Beauty "Cheats"

422180_happy_meb.pngOkay, so we all have our secrets, right? And that includes those beauty cheats that we do when we're in a rush, feeling lazy or just don't think anyone's looking. Hey, we all do it, embrace it!

For instance, Melissa will sometimes go for up to 3 days without taking off her mascara, just wiping the smudge off in the morning and *gasp!* RE-applying another coat or two. Jen doesn't always feel like actually getting down and scrubbing her feet so she'll scoot them on the shower floor instead. Toya sometimes uses her facial scrub as a cleanser and gets to skip a step, and when she's been someplace smoky and doesn't want to have to wash her hair that night, she sprays Febreeze in it!

Come on, tell us your beauty cheats!

i've used baby lotion as a make-up remover for years. it takes off even the toughest waterproof mascara with a swipe and it's so gentle it never causes any irritation.

I use my lipstick for blush when I travel. Saves space in the makeup bag.

I use Chapstick as mascara primer. It's so much cheaper than buying the color-primer duos and it works just as well. I apply a dab with my finger and apply mascara immediately afterwards.

Can you believe I can't think of anything? The best I've come up with is Two-in-One shampoo/conditioner. And... I think people know about that.

Oh, I don't know if this is a cheat or not, but I keep my lotion in the shower and I slather it on before I dry off. Then when I do fianlly grab a towel a few minutes later, I just wipe the excess lotion off and my skin's really soft and hydrated.

There.

I do the same mascara thing as Melissa. Luckily I don't have really sensitive eyes, because I do it a lot!

I use a really thick concealer as a primer under my eyeshadow. It makes even the cheap stuff stay on better and really makes those loose ones stick really well and the colors seem to look much brighter then.

Oh, I do a similar thing to Erin!

I have to do the whole rinse, lather, repeat thing so what I do is I have one shampoo to rise out all the gunk and I use a two-in-one afterwards so I can skip over the conditioner bottle.

When I'm pushed for time, I concentrate shampoo on my roots and conditioner on the ends then rinse while washing my body. (2 in 1's just don't offer enough conditioning for my hair.)

Also a tip from my stylist: I have long hair and if I at least spend 5 minutes to dry the front of my hair, I look totally polished.

With this combo, I can turn what normally takes an hour into a 15 minute morning.

Also, Ponds make-up remover cloths at night are a skin & time saver! The deep cleaning one removes mascara, lipstick and foundation effortlessly without water. Even removes Blinc's Kiss Me mascara.

That's so funny Jen. I do the same thing. Hey, it's textured right!

In the makeup remover vein, I use baby wipes on my sensitive face. Hey, I figure if it's mild enough for a baby's bottom, it shouldn't hurt me. So far it hasn't. It's mild and does a great job.
