DeLush Love It Or Lose It: Eyelash Extensions
Time for you to weigh in again!
Okay, so we've been hearing about this new all-the-rage trend among celebrities who want the glamour of thick lashes every time they leave the house but want to eliminate the chore of applying false ones constantly.
These new lash additions, which can stay on for up to 2 months, are professionally applied with a special adhesive. They are supposed to be much more comfortable and lighter in weight than traditional false eyelashes and are put on one at a time. Application can take well over an hour and can cost anywhere up to approximately $350 for the initial visit, with touch-ups costing less and also requiring less time.
Is this something you'd consider? Have you already tried them? We want you to tell us if this is something you think is truly glam or simply ridiculous!

I'd love to try them but just can't stomach the cost. Especially if they only last about 2 months. *Sigh* maybe one day.
Here's my .02 on lash extentions from someone who both does the process in my own spa and has worn them. IF properly done (and this is a big "IF"), they are gorgeous. They can look natural or they can use a thicker lash here and there to make them look more mascaraed. Maintenance is every 2-3 weeks. Some may need replacing due to having fallen out or, they've grown out and need to be replaced closer to the base of the lash. In all honesty, I try to steer my clients toward good growth serums. I think it's better for their lashes (no damage). I don't have to worry about their home care which is very important with extentions. Mascara is a no-no with extensions. Even the mascara MADE for extentions eventually wears down the bond and it's suggested that you wear nothing. Those who might play or tug at their lashes will are usually bothered by the extentions whereas they seem to appreciate their own lashes. Training is a big issue in extentions and there are so many techs out there without the right training you really have to do your homework before deciding on who is going to put your extentions on. On the surface, you might think the technician makes less money by selling a lash growth serum but in the end, the client achieves the same look and is more appreciative of healthy gorgeous lashes. You can use the 1 1/2 hour application time for a nice facial or microderm and still have money left over!
i am in love with the idea of getting eyelash extensions, seeing as how i have blonde eyelashes that are virtually invisible until i put mascara on, however-- i will never have the money to spend on them. i was really interested in the growth serums suggested by lisa. what do you recommend and where can i find these?
Hey...I just wondering over to your blog for the first time and I love it!
About the false eye lashes...I'd definitely consider getting them, but not at that price. Those eye lashes are the equivalent of a student loan payment!! I'd splurge that much on a special piece of clothing or shoes, but temporary false EYELASHES? It just seems too pointless and vain to me when I can pick up a nice volumizing mascara for $30.
Lash extensions sound so ridiculous. The mere thought of somebody tying or gluing things to my eyelashes makes me cringe! Ok, so I have naturally long and black eyelashes, but still.. you can buy a lot of nice mascara for the price of these extensions.
I suppose for people who spend the money to buy at least decent quality false lashes and diligently wear them every single day, this is a good option. In the long run, the expense probably isn't any more than paying to wear false lashes every day, and it's worth the time to make appointments and maintain them because of the time saved in applying false lashes every day.
For most people, though, I would think this would be more of an investment (time and money) than they're willing to make.
Me? I don't even wear makeup on a daily (or even a frequent) basis. I wouldn't dream of spending so much on false lashes.
