David Cruz worked with the designer to create a pulled back style that stood out on its own, and one that looked great under the hoods that were part of several looks that went down the runway. The style was textured and then teased out and smoothed to form an upside-down teardrop.
This style is best suited on those with long hair. Although it seems like you'd need naturally thick hair to make the look for for you, many of the models had very fine hair, so he made liberal use of Redken Fabricate 3 and Redken Guts 10 to give the thickness and fullness that the look calls for.1- Start with a very defined deep side part. It will keep the look smooth and clean, keeping it polished.
2- Pull the hair back into a low ponytail right above the nape of the neck.
3- Spray Workforce 09 Hairspray into each small section of hair and tease for big, big volume. Repeat until the entire ponytail has been infused with volume.
4- Finally, smooth the ponytail into the upside-down teardrop shape. Finish with more Workforce 09.So what does a warrior wear for her make-up? I spoke with a NARS make-up artist to learn about the gorgeous golds emphasized on the face. The eyes were framed by strong eyebrows, and like many looks this fall, there was no mascara. The two eyeshadows at play were a bright gold and a duller gold shade, which are packaged together and will be released in time for Fall. There were two lipsticks in play: Canaille for the fairer skined, and Hindu for the darker. The final touch was a hint of blush in Dolce Vita. All these shades will be available for Fall '08.
