Roundtable Discussion: What Are Your Favorite Drugstore Products?

wallet.pngAs we wrap our Drugstore Favorites Week here on DeLush and have confirmed that you DON'T have to spend a ton of money on quality beauty products, now's your chance to tell us what drugstore items you can't live without! And if there's another beauty product from the drugstore that you want us to test here at DeLush, let us know about that as well.

*Jen's All-Time Faves: "Dove Energy Glow moisturizer, Nexxus Diametress Shampoo, Rimmel nail color, and Prestige Automatic Eyeliner. A product that Melissa reviewed that I just think is fantastic is Olay's Eye Transforming Cream. It's better than any expensive department store cream I've ever tried. I've very nearly given up concealer."

*Melissa's Favorites: "As always, Maybelline Full 'n Soft Mascara in Waterproof Black - but also Bonne Bell Skin Musk Oil and Blistex Silk 'n Shine, L'Oreal Natural Match and L'Oreal Coleur Experte (both of which have given me fabulous color and shine at home) and most recently the FABULOUS new lip product from Aquafina which is available in some Walmart locations now, Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil. If you can find it in your town, snag it up and give it a try!"

Roundtable Discussion: What Are Your Favorite Drugstore Products?:

» Put the lotion in the basket Become's Pocket Change
I have an addiction to hair care products and cosmetics. My linen closet is stuffed with the latest and greatest shampoos, lotions and lip balms. I guess that’s what happens when your mom’s a cosmetologist. Besides checking the websites of... []

I, too, LOVE the Aquafina Hydrating Lip Oil. I started using it around Christmas and I just adore it.

I love the Neutrogena Eye Soothers. I think it is a nice hint of color that feels cool on my eyes.

I love all of the Nivea products. They smell fresh and a little goes a long way.

And Carmex. I don't know where I'd be without it.

My drugstore faves:

The L'Oreal True Match line - concealer, foundation, powder, blush

Maybelline Lash Discovery mascara in Soft Black

Revlon Fabulash

Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation, blush, and eye shadow

Maybelline Ultra Line (I think that's the name of it) liquid liner

L'Oreal Colour Juice in Iced Latte

I posted this a few days ago, but since this is actually the proper place for it, and I'm adding a new item, I'm reposting it here:

I love LOVE new Lash Exact by Maybelline. I can put five coats on and it still won't clump. It is a nice intense black, lengthens and thickens my lashes outrageously and while it does start to rub off under my eyes a little after several hours, it is nothing like most mascaras I've tried.

Ilove the new John Frieda hair glaze. I use
Sheer Blonde Luminous Color Glaze, Honey to Caramel. I have long hair that was feeling kinda dry, but it feels silky after using this product, with no knots at the nape of my neck even after 2 days. (that is unheard of for me)

Also, after seeing DeLush's review on the home straightener (EasyStraight), I headed to Walgreens to check it out. I decided not to get that (my hair just has a slight annoying wave), but I did get the Perfect Blowout Professional Spray from the same line (on sale for $5.99). It is FABULOUS! It makes my hair shiny and straight with no frizz and still keeps the volume at the roots.

I highly recommend all of these products!

Garnier 100% Color hair dye: Inexpensive, easy to use and looks great every time!

Netrogena's MoistureShine lip gloss in "Sweet Nothing": Basic clear lip gloss that looks fantastic alone or over lipstick.

Revlon's Timeliner (eyeliner) in Ebony: Absolutely stays put; I never have to re-apply it during the day!

Jen tell us about the Dove Energy Glow. I've been wanting to try it.

Wendy | May 13, 2006 8:51 AM

I agree with Melissa--Full&Soft is one of the best mascaras I have ever used. Beyond that:

Eucerin Redness Relief Cleanser
Aveeno Ultra-Calming Moisture w/SPF
Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner
Neutrogena Lip Boost Lipstick in Blushing Tulip
Neutrognea Visibly Firm Eye Cream (although I am intrigued...may have to try the Olay!)

Also, does Sonia Kashuk count? I love her eyeshadow palettes....they come with a base that *really* keeps shadow from creasing, and the colors are pretty and soft.

Hmmm, so many to choose from:

Bonne Bell flavored lip glosses. I usually have three or four different ones going at a time.

L'Oreal anything, especially the new Infallible long-wearing foundation

St. Ives and Alberto VO5 shampoo "flavors"

Olay Daily Facials cloths - they really do a great job, and rinsing clean is a breeze.

(This is my first comment on this blog but I will be coming back to visit often!)

I would love it if you guys reviewed Revlon's Fabulash. Like Wendy, I love, love, love the stuff. It seems to dry out quickly for me though, I need to replace it about once a month and a hal or so.
Anyway, I'd like to know how it lines up in your expert opinions. I'm committed to using it, but I'm always wondering (like most people on these blogs) could there be better....?
Thanks!

Revlon Colorstay Eye Pencil - An automatic liner {score!} and even on the INSIDE RIM stays on for hours on end. LOVE it.

Eucerin Redness Relief Line - Unbelievable results!

Dove Energy Glow Moisturizer - I don't think I'll ever need to use another moisturizer EVER!

Prestige Liquid Eye liner - awesome! so easy to control, great colors, great lasting power! and less than 5 bucks!

L'Oreal HIP lip gloss - AMAZING staying power and awesome color selections!

I adore NARS and Stila and DuWop, but god knows my postgrad budget doesn't let me splurge a whole lot. So I spend HOURS at CVS and Duane Reade browsing makeup. Here are my faves:

-Prestige Pencil Eyeliners - AMAZING! they stay on for hours, have a smooth consistency and the colors are heavenly. I wanted one of those Urban Decay 24/7 pencils, but got 5 of the Prestige in assorted colors for the price of one UD!!! Still love 'em.

-Covergirl Aquasmooth SPF15 makeup - use it as a concealer and for covering up some redness. Great coverage. Used it since high school. and it's got SPF. Kaching!

-Revlon lipstick - the BEST lipstick out there (i totally agree)! Have it in a bunch of colors, perfect for staining the lips a bit or going full-on. Their nudes are incredible for the pale lip look. And it never dries my lips.

-Maybelline Volume Express mascara - hasn't been reviewed yet, but it gives awesome full lashes. I use a coat and then follow up with maybelline's Great Lash in Blackest Black (because i love dramatic fringe) and it does the trick. No smearing either. This is a great alternative to DiorShow and Benefit Bad Gal (which i both own).

-Jergens Natural Glow in Medium to Tan - the latest dark color addition to the line, I use it to tan overnight (i would normally use the Medium) because i'm impatient! It leaves my skin super silky and glowy and never orange. Awesome product.

Mabelline Full & Soft

Max Factor Lash Perfection... Why didn't they come out w/ this years ago?!

Oil of Olay Original Beauty Fluid

Dove Shampoo and Conditioner

Rimmel Professional Eye Brow Pencil

I really like Covergirl Professional Loose Powder, since it eridicates shine quite well and makes me have that soft focus look.

I also like Almay Nearly Naked Blush, when applied to the apples of my cheeks, on the nose, on the chin and the forehead.

I like revlon eyeglide shimmer shadow in the skin tone shades to line the inner corners of my eyes and as liner
