Melissa's DeLush Downlow: I've been reticent of vanilla for much of the past few years. I mean, I'm a fan generally, but something about that whole drugstore variety of pungent and overly-powerful vanilla that swept some of the female population a while ago just turned me off for a while. I was meandering through Sephora the other week, though, sampling some fragrances when I came across the line from La Maison de la Vanille. Uh-oh. I was worried. I wanted to try them out, but I've been let down by vanilla-laden fragrances before.

Vanille Noire du Mexique somehow appealed to me so much that I had to go ahead and get it. I think it's the way the vanilla is complicated nicely with some of the other notes. It's a warmed-up vanilla - not too sweet, a tad bit spicy and powdery. You don't need much (a little goes a long way), but the bottle is a nice size (100 ml) also, so this should last you a long while.

Retail Price: $35.00 (sephora.com - sorry UK readers, I tried VERY hard to find a place for you to purchase nearby!)

*Remember, DeLush does not rate fragrances because of the individual tastes and body chemistry that affect each user's experience. But you can check the Perfume category under "Product Type" if you'd like to see more fragrance ideas!
