Fall Product Review: Chanel Pink Lamé Eyeshadow

What They Say: " A highly original eyeshadow that blends sophistication, luxury and fashion in one! The innovative, embossed surface reflects the intricate beauty of lamé, weaving together three opulent layers of silky powder in gold, silver and rose tones."

Jen's Experience: This was the product that I was drooling over the most this season, and I think it may be my biggest disappointment. With all the work they went into to create the separate colors in their "opulent layers", the end result is a purplish-pink that is bright but not all that becoming on me. I refused to admit it at first, and wore it daily, but after a while I just had to admit that it really wasn't the best color on me.

I also found that the color didn't last that long no matter what I tried. Primer underneath, a base of cream shadow, powder on top -- it didn't matter, the color was gone within 4 hours of application.

This was going to be my staple eyeshadow for the season, but sadly, I'm just not all that impressed.

Tip: One way to really make this color pop is with a dark purple eyeliner. I found that it really complemented the purple in the shadow.

Retail Price: $40.00 (Neiman Marcus) It's selling out at this point, so if this is something you're wanting to try for yourself, hurry to your local department store!
