Review: Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Whipped Foundation
What They Say: “This revolutionary new formulation contains valuable minerals and nutrients from three types of organic seaweed and includes Vitamin C antioxidants which combat signs of premature aging. A lightweight whipped texture provides medium to full coverage.”
Toya’s Take: I received this foundation in both Summer Monsoon (warm caramel/for deep golden complexions) and Kimberley Plateau (mocha/for deep brown complexions). I tried both and was pleased to see that, like other newer foundations, the formulation allows you to use more than one shade and have it be a match for your skin. There was only a slight difference, but eventually, I preferred the Summer Monsoon. The foundation felt a bit thicker than I would have liked, considering that I wear sheerer foundations on a regular basis, but, once applied, it felt really light. I worried that it would be too emollient for my oily skin, but it dried to a matte finish, thankfully. I really liked this foundation, however, I did find that the coverage was much more sheer than medium to full coverage, which it advertises, and I was worried about having to dip into the glass jar every time I apply it, which, in my mind, could lead to contamination.
Jen's Experience: I generally like my foundations to be more of the full coverage variety so, like Toya, I was expecting expected this foundation from Sue Devitt to be a lot less sheer. I was able to apply more layers to build to a medium coverage, but never was able to build to full. I felt the need to use a foundation brush instead of dipping my fingers in the pot each time, but it just doesn't go on well with a brush (it makes my pores look like they're the size of craters). I found myself getting the foundation to my face with the brush, and then smoothing it out with my fingers. I also was not particularly fond of the seaweed smell.
There are definitely some redeeming factors though. It looks very natural and it made my skin look radiant and glowy, and that's always a good thing. It was just matte enough to be dewy without having to breakout the powder. Overall, I'm disappointed in this product from a coverage perspective, but I think my overall impression would be better if it came in pump dispenser for easier application.

Review: Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Whipped Foundation:
I tried this foundation this weekend as well and was dissapointed. The coverage is not that great and I didn't like the idea of having to dip my foundation brush into the jar. The foundation seemed to sink into my pores after a few hours.
