Review: Vincent Longo NEW Tinted Moisturizer

What They Say: "Vincent Longo’s NEW Light Canvas Tinted Moisturizer is essential for creating a tanned and radiant youthful look. The new complexion category gives a highly moisturized sun-kissed glow with a hint of color.

The additional benefit of SPF 20 sunscreen helps you look great while maintaining an active outdoor carefree lifestyle. This superior moisturizing base contains Hyaluronic Filling Spheres to uplift fine lines. SPF 20 protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays, free radicals and prevents premature aging. The Light Canvas Tinted Moisturizer contains a blend of mineral pigments that nourishes from within for a summery youthful all day glow.

FINISH Flawless healthy glowing complexion. Light coverage, dewy texture. Excellent for hydrating and protecting skin, while reducing redness."

Jen's Experience: One of the best foundations I've tried is the Vincent Longo Liquid Canvas Dew Finish, but I hated the packaging; I was never able to dispense it without it going everywhere. I had high hopes that in the past couple of years they would have made some vast improvements, but unfortunately, any changes to the packaging were to make it difficult, if not impossible, to dispense it with the pump dispenser. (Seriously, it's a squishy bottle AND it has a pump -- I can't believe that I have so much trouble with this.) It's such a shame, because otherwise it's an absolutely fantastic tinted moisturizer. It keeps my dry skin soft, but it doesn't leave me greasy, even in the heat. It's very lightweight, but the coverage is good. I would normally wear a foundation to work and a tinted moisturizer on weekends, but this one is so good, I wear it pretty much all the time. Such a shame the packaging doesn't live up to the product.

Review: Vincent Longo Cream Concealer

vincentlongo.pngWhat They Say: "Makeup artists call this product their secret weapon and the best choice to conceal just about anything - without looking heavy or greasy. This cream-formulated concealer comes in an easy to use pot and provides full coverage for undereye circles, blemishes, discoloration, and minor flaws. Blends with virtually any foundation to help achieve a flawless looking complexion."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow: Aside from the M∙A∙C Studio Touchup Stick which I recently raved about, this concealer comes in extremely close at the very LEAST in terms of quality coverage, blendable texture, and near imperceptibility. There is almost no way for this moisture-rich formula to ever look cake-y or dry. It's definitely worth a try, as long as you've tested and found your perfect shade.

Retail Price: $26.50 (at Sephora.com - sorry UK readers, I couldn't find a resource for you nearby, but for all readers, the Vincent Longo website will go live this summer! Go here to sign up to be alerted when it is complete!)

Vincent Longo Lip Stain in Nude

From the Sephora website:  Vincent Longo Lip Stain is the beloved favorite of the hottest celebs in Hollywood and has universal appeal for all women. This super sheer lipstick has a moisture rich formula to create dewy, natural looking lips with a delicate tint of color."

Jen's Experience:  I've been all about the lip glosses and the lip plumpers lately, but sometimes it's nice to apply a nice, natural shade of lipstick and forget about it.  And for this, I highly recommend Vincent Longo's lip stain (also available in SPF15 formula, I saw on the Sephora website).  I got this lip stick thinking that it was going to be a richer, almost chestnut color, despite the name "Nude".  Normally, it would bug me that the lipstick and the actual applied color are so different.  But it's the perfect shade.  It looks completely natural on my lips, giving them a little color and shine.  I feel polished and professional when I wear it.  The texture is pretty thin, not gloppy like a lot of lipsticks, because unlike other lipsticks I am not completely smothering them with color.   It lasts about 3-4 hours, which is not spectacular, but perfectly acceptable considering it is the most perfect color ever made.

Vincent Longo Lipgloss in Dolce

What They Say: "These silky-soft, cushiony lip glosses add shine and suppleness to any look."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow: SUPER soft, light and pretty - this is practically the ideal nude gloss, and trust me, I've searched high and low for something I can say that about. Attractive case with a sponge applicator. Feels great and adds the perfect shine. I'm in love.

Vincent Longo Liquid Canvas Dew Finish

From Sephora: "Dew finish is an emollient, medium to full coverage liquid foundation that blends evenly and imparts a soft radiance to the skin, for a moist, glowing finish that lasts all day. Enriched with Ceramide III (moisturizes), vitamin E, ester C (potent antioxidants), aloe (soothing), and a protective SPF 15 sunscreen."

My Experience:  First the good news -- this stuff is amazing.  It makes my skin look radiant without being the least bit obvious.  It blends really easily with my natural skin to completely even out my skin tone without being pancake thick.  It did not make my sensitive skin break out, even when I did not wear moisturizer underneath it.  Here's the downside -- the pump dispenser may not work properly.  I am a real fan of pump dispensers, but 2 out of 3 bottles I've used of this had problems and would spray foundation EVERYWHERE.    I would normally put my clothes on first so that I didn't have to worry about transferring any makeup to my top, but when I use this, I have to wait until my makeup is applied and set before dressing.

Tips:  I was told by the salesperson that I should use a sponge to apply the foundation, and I have always followed that advice.  It's a little wasteful, but it produces the smoothest, almost airbrushed quality finish.  Also, if my skin was not too dry, I wore this makeup without moisturizer underneath.   It seems to have more staying power that way.

Rating: , due only to the pump dispenser issues
