This week's Face of Fall focuses on Estee Lauder "Mythical Beauty", their color line for Fall 2006. The colors in this line aren't as dramatic as some of the other looks we've seen this season, but the rich colors and illuminators give a glowy, rich look that fits right in with the chocolates and plums that are popular right now.

Pure Color Crystal Gloss

If you're a fan of glosses like me (who isn't?), Estee Lauder has added some new colors to their glosses for Fall to coordinate with the Mythical Beauty look. The colors, White Chocolate, Platinum Rose, and Plum Wine can be used by themselves or overtop the coordinating lipstick shades for more intense color. These glosses will be reviewed during Fall Is Fabulous in upcoming weeks.

Pure Color Lipstick

And speaking of coordinating lipsticks, Estee Lauder has expanded the color range of their award-winning lipsticks for Fall 2006. The new shade in their Pure Color Crystal Lipstick is Berry Truffle. They've added two new shades to their Long Lasting Lipstick, Fig and Platinum Rose.

Estee Lauder is recommending this eyeliner in black to coordinate with the other items in the Mythical Beauty look, but after seeing this eyeliner in blue, I am more excited about trying out the dramatic blue eye look that Melissa highlighted last Friday.

Pure Color Nail Lacquer

The new shades of the nail lacquer, Plum Cassis and Platinum Twilight, are a perfect way to round out the collection, and provide a nice contrast to the bright colors and blacks that we've seen in other places this season. The Plum, in particular, looks like the perfect coordinating shade to the other items in the Mythical Beauty Collection. Melissa will be reviewing the lacquer in Platinum Twilight later this month during Fall Is Fabulous.

The Face of Fall: Chanel

For the Fall 2006 fashion season, there is no line I am more excited about than that of Chanel. In a season filled with black, Chanel brings bright accent colors that would -- at first glance -- be appropriate for resort season, but instead are a perfect complement the darker clothes of fall. The emphasis in the fall Chanel line is on pink and shades of purple. These are no light pastels, though; each of the colors in the collection is rich and vibrant and anything but drab.

Another of the highlights of the Fall collection at Chanel is the new color combo available in their eyeshadow duo, Flash-back, featuring hot pink and black violet to deliver a brightening backdrop for lashes and a general splash of color to the fall face. Apply dry for subtle shadowing or slightly moistened for a more vibrant look.
